Asia 301: East Meets West [DIVR] [K] is a one-credit class and research symposium offered by the WSU Asia Program. Since themes and topics change, it can be taken up to three times for credit. All presentations are open to the public.

  • Monday, October 5: China Town Hall: Chinese investment in the United States / China and Africa (guest lectures)
  • Tuesday, October 13: Dr. Shawna Herzog on human trafficking and Asia
  • Thursday, October 15: Dr. Ed Slack (EWU) on the Chinese global diaspora
  • Tuesday, October 20: Dr. Keri McCarthy on music in Southeast Asia
  • Tuesday, October 27: Dr. Cheryl Gunselman on the MASC Leynse collection and Leynse’s film “Out There, a Lone Island”
  • Thursday, October 29: Liz Lee, licensed acupuncturist, on Chinese medicine
  • Tuesday, November 3: Dr. William Brecher on Japanese culture
